Protester outside of Romney rally explains how Obama gives all minorities free phones and that is why they should vote for him. Cleveland Ohio, September 26, 2012 (Added: This lady told film maker that she was NOT being paid to protest. Others in the group said that all were from SEIU. This is unconfirmed for this lady.)
There is a new hurdle in the ongoing campaign war between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama. A video has surfaced proclaiming that Obama will win votes due to providing free cell phones to a subsegment of the entitlement class: a King of the Cell Phone Class is crowned.
This has now prompted the Romney campaign to rethink strategy and announce that they will make free cell phones available immediately to every member of the 47% in order to make restitution for Mitt’s, shall we say, “eloquent” remarks. Just watching the embedded video has spurred the Romney Campaign into action. They have suddenly realized that there is real anger in the streets at the mere thought of having the cell phone bennie eliminated. Here Team Romney was under the false impression that the economy and jobs are what is really important to the voters. Instead, the video outcry has rallied the Team and the message is crystal clear: cell phones are the key to winning the Presidential election! Mitt finally has a democratic-party approved use for his Bain Capital millions and he can certainly purchase many cell phones. And he even gets a charitable deduction!
Team Romney has developed and added significant improvements to their “Romneyphone,” elevating the term “feeding off the government trough” to a new level. The Cell Phones will turn into Food Stamps upon dialing a secret code. This is contingent upon the recipient being able to correctly answer a series of questions, like who is Barack Obama’s running mate and what should be done about Osama Bin Laden.
Wonder how many people will jump at the chance to own a Romneyphone? Freebies usually do produce a desired result, as evidenced by the substantial use of food stamps the past 4 years.
Maybe if the Democrats focused on the real issues like the economy and jobs rather than their typical grandstanding and pandering to special interest groups, creation of straw men arguments and just plain faux outrage, we just might actually get something done in this country. The Democrats have made a mockery of the poor and less fortunate; relegating them to “useful idiot” status to proliferate their power base. It’s the old Roman philosophy of bread and circuses, updated for the new millennium in the form of a cell phone.
