Hurricane Isaac unleashed torrential winds and caused severe flooding in Louisiana that is expected to last all day Wednesday marking a grim seven-year anniversary of Katrina that nearly devastated New Orleans.

Federal officials say they are monitoring the storm so President Barack Obama will not be adjusting his schedule this week as he continues a campaign swing across college campuses in Iowa and Colorado.
