Obama and Holder are confident that if they can ban a large number of the legal firearms that law-abiding Americans use every day for self-defense, hunting, and recreational and competitive target shooting, it will help solve Mexico’s crime problem.

What’s particularly galling about Holder’s shallow and illogical attempt to use “Fast and Furious” to further the Obama administration’s gun-ban agenda is that during the same hearing, he lectured Congress for playing political “gotcha” games in an election year.

Amazingly, Holder seems incapable of understanding that this isn’t a Republican or Democratic issue, it’s an American issue, and all Americans deserve to know how and why their government purposefully allowed thousands of guns to flow into the hands of murderous Mexican drug cartels. The family of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry deserves to know why two of these guns were found at the scene of Terry’s murder.

The RNC needs to pick up this line and run it as an endless loop.

From the article: "This administration has consistently favored the reinstitution of the assault weapons ban. It is something that we think was useful in the past with regard to the reduction that we’ve seen in crime, and certainly would have a positive impact on our relationship and the crime situation in Mexico."

The headline is misleading. It states that Eric Holder told Congress that the Obama administration wants to ban guns. However, the above passage from the article indicates that Mr. Holder is talking about an automatic weapons ban.

However, the above passage from the article indicates that Mr. Holder is talking about an automatic weapons ban.

Last time I checked, automatic weapons belonged to the broad category....,wait for it.....guns.

so you agree with mary the headline is misleading since there is no talk of banning the broad category

I wouldn't call an automatic grenade launcher a gun but I would call it a weapon.

No more misleading than this headline:

      the-increasingly-disturbing-war-against-womens-rights

There is no war on women's rights.

      or this headline:

      virginia-poised-to-enact-state-sponsored-rape-law-forcing-women-to-be-vaginally-probed-before-abortions

      Rape law? Seriously?

      or this headline:

      gop-kicks-women-out-of-contraception-debate-says-its-about-religion-not-women

Except that there were women included in the debate. Unless Representatives Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) and Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) are not women.

i agree the war one is more sensationalism. War isn't for or against anything, war is death.

the second accurately describes what is being proposed. A forced intrusion into the body is rape.

The third they could only considered included if they were allowed to DEBATE

Nice spin. But I guarantee that the average person polled would not equate a vaginal exam with rape. The mere mention of the word conjures up much worse connotations than an exam.

As far as the third, of course they would have been allowed to debate. If they stayed.

Instead, they stormed off in a huff. Very mature behavior one expects from an elected representative. /sarc.

Nothing but a tempest in a teapot.

of course the point is no one on the panel was presenting an opposing view. I have more of problem with the misleading use of debate, it was a hearing.

person polled would not equate a vaginal exam with rape

If you call it what it is I bet they would, forced and unneeded. For example woman goes infor a broken finger the docter says before I can fix your finger law says I have to use this internal probe and do a transvaginal sonogram not only would that be considered rape women would walk out thinking the doc either lost his mind or was a perv.

Patriot: We are in agreement; this headline is misleading.
