The city will also have its regrets as well. The local CBS affiliate reported on Wednesday that the bill has come due for the costs associated with the Occupy protests, and taxpayers may be on the hook for millions of dollars:

Occupy Wall Street is a bill that is due not created. It is a bill that is due to be paid to the American people by those who run our government and have not paid attention to the welfare of the country or its people. It is a bill for the stolen rights of the people by those obsessed with war on the bogus concept of terror. It is a bill that is due because of the theft and bankruptcy of the country caused by two unnecessary wars costing trillions, Wall Street corruption, banking/financial industry bad investments and their bailout. It is a bill that is due to our country and its infrastructure that is in need of repair and upgrading as hundreds of billions were spent to the profit of the war, security and prison industry. It is a bill due our children as they go hungry, uneducated, homeless, lacking healthcare (not health insurance) and imprisoned. It is a bill due as jobs and industry was outsourced taking away American wealth with it. Occupy Wall Street is a bill due the people and the country totaling well over millions of dollars.

Oh goody. Someone else who doesn't understand that any bills paid by taxpayers for ANY reasons are too much now. You must be proud not to understand basic math and economics. Wow, talk about lost, you really are.

Then let's talk about all the bills including those over millions which put the country in it "CURRENT" economic situation where all bills are "TOO MUCH" and just not the ones where the people are exercising their rights. To hone in on just these bills infringes on our Freedom of Speech.

I wonder if the RNC will pick up the tab for the Wall Street Collapse, last I heard it was about 30 Trillion$...It was they, the Republicans, that repealed 'Glass-Steagall' right...Oh those stifling business regulations.

But in Teabagger World, millions are far more wasteful than Trillions...As they continue to cut education budgets to the bone. They need to come to this site and see how badly education is needed.

Such faux outrage.

Of course you conveniently forget the Dem-controlled Congress and Dodd-Frank that contributed to the collapse of the housing market.

Let's see - Dodd was so despised in the state of Connecticut that he retired from Congress.

Now Barney has announced his intention not to run again after 32 years - he only got in the last time by the skin of his teeth.

Let's give credit where credit is due rather than reciting the Dem talking points.

I don't mind paying for things that have a impact on our way of life that is a positive movement. Also the Tea Party had the whole entire RNC behind them. Nothing grass roots about the Tea Party as they were back by Billionaires and Millionaires.

Well, if I lived in LA, I would mind paying.

At least the Tea Party did not leave damage in their wake.

As much as you try to deny it, the Tea Party indeed started as a grass roots movement with people fed up with the level of taxation and the waste of $$$.

I think you have been listening too much to Nancy Pelosi and her silly astroturf. Better to expand your horizons than be bamboozled by the liberal meme.

Dog Blue... are you asking me for proof that the Tea Party was back by the RNC and the Reps. Haaaaaaaa. You are not serious, right

How about Dick Armey's 'Freedom Works'. I also saw many Reps speaking at Tea Party events, led by Fox News talking heads. Also Michele Bachmann founded the Tea Party Caucus.

Patriot.. glad to hear that you live nowhere near Calif because that is were I reside at. Regardless that the money has to be paid and while you and other say that they mind paying, some of us don't mind paying. Also we pay taxes already for cleanup and for police.

Also who says that the Tea Party haven't left damage. Just because no one report it doesn't mean that it didn't happen.

Like I said nothing about the Tea Party was grassroots and that includes those big ass buses that the Billionaires and Millionaires fronted for the Tea Party. If people don't want to pay taxes then don't. But let me warn you that a audit and a jail cell will be waiting in the wings. Haaaaaaaaa

How can you talk about someone listening to people when you have the Fox News channel on your TV set 24 hours a day. You listen to Rush Limbaugh on the radio too, don't you. Brainwash is your middle name

Dog Blue... I just gave you some evidence. It is not my fault that you close your eyes and close your ears and refuse to see it. That is your problem

Patriot.. glad to hear that you live nowhere near Calif because that is were I reside at.

I never said I lived nowhere near Calif. I said I did not live in LA.

Just because no one report it doesn't mean that it didn't happen.

If pigs had wings they would fly. Just because no one sees them, does that mean they don't?

Like I said nothing about the Tea Party was grassroots and that includes those big ass buses that the Billionaires and Millionaires fronted for the Tea Party.

Let's contrast that with donations to the OWS crowd:

The Occupy Wall Street movement based in New York's Zuccotti Park has accumulated almost half a million dollars in cash and online donations.

http://www.npr.org/2011/11/04/142031021/ows-donations-create-headaches-for-protesters

One group gets buses, the other group gets cash. And that is not including donations of supplies, medical professionals, food, etc. reported in Zucotti Park.

Show me one group that does not get donations.

Waiting......

I guess the City of LA needs to impose a tax surcharge on the 99% residing within the metropolitan area to recoup the cost of the exercise of their rights to assemble and speak

It will not be much a per head charge as there are lots of folks residing there.

:-o)

rights to assemble and speak

Assembly and speech not does include the right to destroy property and create a health hazzard.

OWS = Only Worthless Sh*ts and I can vouch for that since I have to get through their nasty, filthy, worthless, selfserving, loud, damaging and unjust pickets every time I go into L.A. for work. Here's hoping the next few weeks really get wet and cold to clear this waste material called occuppy down the storm drains.

Funny, I used to half heartedly support them but now would do most anything to rid the entire country of ows trash.
